Class Management Positive behaviors are encouraged with rewards and negative behaviors are discouraged with consequences. Group points and individual "class cash" are utilized to reward students to earn individual, group and class rewards.
Classwork Classwork is expected to be complete in a timely manner and students will be given sufficient time in order to do so. Classwork that is incomplete will be filed as a "May Do" and will be revisited when students complete other assignments. If students have a concern completing classwork on a regular basis, we will review the students' performance in order to best suit their needs.
Homework Homework is assigned daily except on Fridays. Every night students will have homework to support what they are learning in class. Homework is listed on the whiteboard daily. Students are expected to use their agenda daily to record the nightly homework.
Missing Work To receive full credit, work must be complete, on time, and thoroughly/thoughtfully done. If you choose not to complete and assignment, you will have 1 week to make it up for half credit. After that, late work is not accepted.
Assessment Students are assessed on a regular basis in all subject matter. Dates are posted in the classroom and students will be aware of those dates as they arrive.
Absences Unless your child is ill, please make every attempt to have your child present at school! Students who are must be make up missing work within the span of time that they were absent. Check website for missing assignments and “Extra Paper” bin for extra copies.
Grades Each subject will receive a letter grade and each level of academic success will be noted on the report cards as well. By the end of the school year, students will be expected to master all skills that appear on their report card.
Communication Our class website is my main form of communication. The website will be updated on an as needed basis. Please check the website frequently to stay connected with our class expectations. Also, please feel free to communicate with me via email or phone about any comments, concerns, questions or suggestions that may help your child to be successful in school.
