A little about me...
I am a Sonoma County native and proud graduate of not only Windsor Middle School, but also Ursuline High and Sonoma State University. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and am credentialed to teach Career Technical Education, Foundational Science, and Multiple Subject Education. In addition to my 7 years teaching here at Windsor Middle School, I also taught 5 years in the Gravenstein Union School District.
Before (and during) my teaching career, I spent over a decade in the restaurant industry as a server, bartender, trainer, and supervisor. I helped open two local restaurants and have a love for the hospitality industry. I am super excited to share my expertise with students and help guide them to careers in which they feel passionate.
A little about our family....
My husband and I are the proud parents to three beautiful children, our daughter Ruthie Lou, who blessed us for 33 days (8/9/11-9/10/11) and our sons, Reid and Adam, who are growing so fast!
When I am not at school, I am a passionate advocate for bereaved parents. My other roles include being a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, founder of The Ruthie Lou Foundation and author of Navigating the Unknown: An Immediate Guide When Experiencing the Loss of Your Baby and Our Only Time: Stories of Pregnancy/Infant Loss with Strategies for Health Professionals.
I absolutely LOVE spending time with my boys, Reid and Adam, my husband, Mr. Lands, as well as my friends and family. You can find me playing with our dog Xavi, writing, cycling, swimming, hiking, creating, or enjoying a delicious meal...I love nature and I LOVE food.
See you in the kitchen!
